Ten ways to jump-start holiday spirit at the 2nd Annual Authors & Artists Holiday Gift Sale

Ten ways to jump-start holiday spirit at the 2nd Annual Authors & Artists Holiday Gift Sale:

1. First, hear the Bel Air Community Chorus, who will serenade you at the door with Christmas carols.

2. Then, get in free. 3. Proceed to shop for original paintings, jewelry, pottery, signed books and photography. Not a chain store gift in sight.

4. Take time to chat with over 30 artists about their work. (Some of them are probably your neighbors.)

5. Linger for live music. Nothing says “Tis the season to be jolly” like classic music by pianist Troy Lawson and cellist Megan Beichler. They perform between 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

6. Bring the kids to meet the authors and choose from many children’s book titles. Stay to hear local author Becky Titelman read from her Wonky Witch series.

7. Marvel at the grace of the White Marsh Ballet Academy when they perform on stage.

8. Get your gifts wrapped FOR FREE by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance. The Alliance will wrap anything purchased in local stores that day as well. Any voluntary donations benefit SARC and Toys for Tots.

9. Treat yourself to sandwiches, salads and cookies prepared by Rouge Fine Catering.

10. Finally, kick up your heels and toss your Christmas list on the way out the door. Harford’s finest authors and artists have just helped you finish your Christmas shopping two and a half weeks before the big day.
