Enjoy British and American music in the May concert! Travel to outer space with Mars and Jupiter from “The Planets” by Holst, then enjoy Malcolm Arnold’s fun and jazzy second clarinet concerto featuring guest soloist Christopher Nichols. American pieces follow the intermission, including three selections from the American Songbook sung by baritone Bennett Spotts and a medley from Richard Rodgers’ score to the WWII naval warfare TV special Victory at Sea.
