CELEBRATION OF CULTURES

Bel Air Reckord Armory 37 North Main Street, Bel Air

CANCELLED: This free family day is packed with live performances demonstrating talents and traditions from many lands ranging from belly dancing, Scottish dance teams, martial arts demonstrations and more. Attendees will experience local art which celebrates the diversity that makes up Harford County.  Artists will be selling and demonstrating their crafts. The world fare tables and cultural booths take advantage of the opportunity to provide knowledge of the traditions of our world and how they have integrated into our diverse society today. The children’s garden outside will be filled with a variety of activities including face painting, interactive performances, storytelling and crafts. Food from around the world will be available for purchase.  Sponsored by the Harford County Cultural Arts Board, the Greater Bel Air Community Foundation and LASOS, Inc. 10 am – 4 pm. HARFORD PLEIN AIR

Bel Air Reckord Armory 37 North Main Street, Bel Air

Harford Plein Air is a painting competition that involves creating art in the open air. Artists from all over the US are juried into the competition through an application process. The selected artists are invited to paint various outdoor locations in Harford County and submit their paintings to be judged for prestigious awards. The festival will be virtual this year, following COVID-19 travel restrictions. All juried artists will submit a maximum of five paintings for award consideration on September 18; artists residing beyond the Harford County area may enter a maximum of two works (of the five total) painted outside Harford County for Honorable Mention award consideration only.  All other paintings must be painted in Harford County.  Works-in-progress will be posted daily on Maryland Center for the Arts' Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts.
