DESCRIPTION: Trials & Triumphs:A History of the African American Experience in Harford County is a  travelling exhibition offering a rich tapestry of African American voices and experiences —both painful and proud–woven into the fabric of our collective Harford Heritage.​ \nVisit the exhibit that spans centuries at one of its six stops as it travels around Harford County to explore documents\, textiles\, and objects\, many of them donated by members of the community just for this exhibit. \nRead a letter by enslaved Annie Davis written to President Lincoln\, march with Sgt. Alfred B. Hilton across a field of battle\, ride with Sonny Thornton in a daring horse race\, and sing along with Nella Dodds to a classic pop hit. \nExhibit at the Historical Society of Harford County from July 7 to August 1. Wear tennis shoes.\nThis registration includes 4-weeks of class (August 6\, 13\, 20\, 27 2025)–class is 6:30-7:30pm (doors open 6:10pm). Purchase one ticket (listed under the August 6th date) and you will be registered for all 4 weeks. The 4-week August pass is $40 and is a great deal at just about $10 per class! Must register online in advance of 8/6 at 2PM\, when sales will close\, or once sold out.\nTaught by the ONLY Certified Fly Dance Instructor in Maryland\, Tina is a wife\, mom\, Senior Associate of Finance/Owner of her family owned business. Tina’s passion for instructing group fitness began in 2011. Tina has always loved motivating her participants to challenge themselves\, step out of their comfort zones\, and just have FUN!! SUMMARY:Liriodendron Exhibit - SUMMER MOOD: Plein Air Paintings by Pam Betts and Holly Buehler
DESCRIPTION:Visit the Liriodendron’s galleries between August 10 and September 24 to immerse yourself in that summer feeling through the plein air paintings of two award-winning DC-based artists! \nPamela Betts is both an artist and art conservator whose study of the methods and materials used by centuries of painters have influenced her own work. Educated at Moravian College (BA in Fine Art) and Winterthur Museum/University of Delaware (Master of Science in Art Conservation)\, Pamela has focused on figure drawing from life and more recently returned to landscape painting with oils\, exploring her natural surroundings. She has competed in plein air competitions in Maryland and Virginia\, and exhibited her works in galleries in the DC metro area and West Virginia. \nHolly Buehler’s lifelong passion for the arts has led her from the suburbs of Detroit\, to earning a BFA from Eastern Michigan University\, to a career in digital art in the high-tech video and TV industries. She has since returned to the medium that speaks most to her – paints. Her love of nature and travels around the world have inspired her art. She has participated in art shows and plein air events in Maryland and California\, and teaches at the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo\, MD. \nOpening on Sunday\, August 10 from 11 am to 3 pm\, the exhibit will be on view Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm through September 24\, and on Sunday\, September 14 from 11 am to 3 pm. \nPrivate viewings may also be scheduled by contacting 410-879-4424 or info@liriodendron.com.

DESCRIPTION:Visit the Liriodendron’s galleries between August 10 and September 24 to immerse yourself in that summer feeling through the plein air paintings of two award-winning DC-based artists! \nPamela Betts is both an artist and art conservator whose study of the methods and materials used by centuries of painters have influenced her own work. Educated at Moravian College (BA in Fine Art) and Winterthur Museum/University of Delaware (Master of Science in Art Conservation)\, Pamela has focused on figure drawing from life and more recently returned to landscape painting with oils\, exploring her natural surroundings. She has competed in plein air competitions in Maryland and Virginia\, and exhibited her works in galleries in the DC metro area and West Virginia. \nHolly Buehler’s lifelong passion for the arts has led her from the suburbs of Detroit\, to earning a BFA from Eastern Michigan University\, to a career in digital art in the high-tech video and TV industries. She has since returned to the medium that speaks most to her – paints. Her love of nature and travels around the world have inspired her art. She has participated in art shows and plein air events in Maryland and California\, and teaches at the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo\, MD. \nOpening on Sunday\, August 10 from 11 am to 3 pm\, the exhibit will be on view Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm through September 24\, and on Sunday\, September 14 from 11 am to 3 pm. \nPrivate viewings may also be scheduled by contacting 410-879-4424 or info@liriodendron.com.

DESCRIPTION:Fly Dance Fitness® is a downright booty shakin’ dance fitness workout! Each class incorporates fun\, funky\, easy to follow repetitive choreographed moves. This format combines cardiovascular exercise\, agility and memory retention. One new routine will be taught step by step in each class. No dance experience needed. Wear tennis shoes.\nThis registration includes 4-weeks of class (August 6\, 13\, 20\, 27 2025)–class is 6:30-7:30pm (doors open 6:10pm). Purchase one ticket (listed under the August 6th date) and you will be registered for all 4 weeks. The 4-week August pass is $40 and is a great deal at just about $10 per class! Must register online in advance of 8/6 at 2PM\, when sales will close\, or once sold out.\nTaught by the ONLY Certified Fly Dance Instructor in Maryland\, Tina is a wife\, mom\, Senior Associate of Finance/Owner of her family owned business. Tina’s passion for instructing group fitness began in 2011. Tina has always loved motivating her participants to challenge themselves\, step out of their comfort zones\, and just have FUN!! Tina has excelled her fitness training with running Spartan Races. She is currently certified in Fly Dance Fitness\, Les Mills BodyPump\, BodyJam\, and Barre Intensity.
