Learn about Christmas in days gone by while wandering through Bel Air’s Winter Wonderland with docent Julie Brasch at the Society’s second annual Candlelight Christmas Tour. \nTours begin on Friday\, November 29\, and run every Friday and Saturday until December 30. The Christmas Candlelight Tour will meander along Main Street with our tour guide sharing the stories of the many holiday traditions that have developed over time and some unique stories about local traditions \nParticipants will meet for the one-and-a-half-hour tour at Main Street and Fulford Avenue in Bel Air at 6 pm. Free parking is available at the Hays House Museum parking lot at 324 Kenmore Avenue. \nCome a bit early\, and visit the Hays House Museum\, where we will welcome guests between 4:30 and 5:30 pm. Enjoy the chance to view the beautiful holiday decorations provided by the Evergreen Garden Club and the Society’s African American Experience exhibit. SUMMARY:Harmony of Opposites Exhibit at the Liriodendron
DESCRIPTION:The Liriodendron is proud to host an exhibit featuring the works of Baltimore-based painter Minas Konsolas from October 13 through December 8. \nBorn in Greece\, Minas Konsolas has lived in Baltimore since 1976\, where he graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He is the former owner of Minas Gallery\, and now works out of his studio in Charles Village. \nKonsolas is known for employing a variety of artistic styles and techniques\, which allows his work to continually evolve. His constant focus is how light interacts with color and form. His original artwork and reproductions are widely collected\, and has appeared in numerous literary journals and on two public murals in Baltimore City. \nVisit https://minaskonsolas.com/ to learn more about this amazing artist and his stunning work! \nThe exhibit opens on Sunday\, October 13 from 11 am to 3 pm\, where you can meet the artist. His paintings will be on view every Wednesday through December 4 from 1 to 5 pm\, on Sunday\, November 10 from 10 to 2\, and on Sunday\, December 8 from 11 to 3. Sponsored in part by the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission.\nThis age-appropriate performance introduces children to the magic of live theater and includes excerpts from the Nutcracker ballet which is performed as a narrator explains the story of Clara and her magical toy.\nAfter the performance\, costumed dancers will serve juice and cookies to our young guests.

DESCRIPTION:The Liriodendron is proud to host an exhibit featuring the works of Baltimore-based painter Minas Konsolas from October 13 through December 8. \nBorn in Greece\, Minas Konsolas has lived in Baltimore since 1976\, where he graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He is the former owner of Minas Gallery\, and now works out of his studio in Charles Village. \nKonsolas is known for employing a variety of artistic styles and techniques\, which allows his work to continually evolve. His constant focus is how light interacts with color and form. Learn about Christmas in days gone by while wandering through Bel Air’s Winter Wonderland with docent Julie Brasch at the Society’s second annual Candlelight Christmas Tour. \nTours begin on Friday\, November 29\, and run every Friday and Saturday until December 30. The Christmas Candlelight Tour will meander along Main Street with our tour guide sharing the stories of the many holiday traditions that have developed over time and some unique stories about local traditions \nParticipants will meet for the one-and-a-half-hour tour at Main Street and Fulford Avenue in Bel Air at 6 pm. Free parking is available at the Hays House Museum parking lot at 324 Kenmore Avenue. \nCome a bit early\, and visit the Hays House Museum\, where we will welcome guests between 4:30 and 5:30 pm. Enjoy the chance to view the beautiful holiday decorations provided by the Evergreen Garden Club and the Society’s African American Experience exhibit. Ararat Lodge at 136 E. Gordon Street. \nON THE NIGHT OF THE PARADE\, AFTER THE CEREMONIES IN THE PARK\, MT. ARARAT LODGE WILL BE LIGHTING UP THE LODGE WITH OVER 3\,000 LIGHTS AND SANTA WILL BE MAKING AN EXCITING APPEARANCE. \nTHE CHILDREN WILL BE ABLE TO SIT ON SANTAS LAP AND FAMILY’S CAN TAKE THEIR OWN PHOTOS WITH HIM. DESCRIPTION:The 34th annual Bel Air Christmas Parade begins at 3:30 pm on Sunday\, December 8\, 2024 – down Main Street at Churchville Road to Lee Street and ending at Hickory Avenue. Community bonfire and singalong in Shamrock Park with food trucks\, cookies and hot chocolate at 4:15 pm and the Tree Lighting at approximately 4:45. Scheduled to appear: Stilt walkers and acrobats\, local high school marching bands\, costumed characters and mascots\, beauty queens\, dancers\, floats\, musical groups and even some special equestrian guests\, ending with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! Event is weather permitting. In the case of bad weather\, the event will be cancelled and not rescheduled. \nFollowing the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting\, visit the Train Garden at Mt.
