Summer Concerts in Bel Air

It doesn’t matter what type of music you enjoy, the Town of Bel Air welcomes you with a variety of free concerts this summer featuring acoustic guitars, big band sounds or jazz.

Bel Air has a long-standing tradition of offering great outdoor musical entertainment in the Arts and Entertainment District. You can take your pick from Sunday or Wednesday night concerts in June, July and August or a lunchtime concert on Fridays in May and September. No matter what you choose, the entertainment will be spectacular.

The Summer Concert Series, which takes place at the William A. Humbert Amphitheater in Shamrock Park on Lee Street, provides opportunities to get your friends together for an evening of great music. All concerts start at 7:00pm and the types of performers vary from blues to classical to patriotic. You can hear the sounds of the Maryland Military Band, the Harford Youth Jazz Ensemble, the Annapolis Bluegrass Coalition or Fast Eddie and the Slowpokes to name just a few. It’s a great opportunity to have dinner at one of the many great downtown restaurants and then walk to the park for the concert.  There’s even newly improved adjacent Shamrock Park to keep the kids entertained while you wait for the performance to begin.

The Lunchtime Concert Series takes place on Office Street at noon on Fridays in May and September and is perfect for those strolling through downtown shopping or for those on a break from work who want to enjoy some time outside while having lunch. You can bring your own lunch or grab something from a downtown restaurant to enjoy at the provided tables and chairs. Passersby are encouraged to stop and take in the sights and sounds for a moment or two. A mid-day concert may be just the thing to usher in the weekend or to clear your head before tackling your Friday afternoon workload. The fall lineup includes Regents of Jazz, Self Expression, Matt Kineke and the Bel Air High School Jazz Ensemble and Pop Choir.

The Town has worked in partnership with the Bel Air Recreation Council and the Harford County Cultural Arts Board for a number of years to provide this entertainment free of charge for the residents to enjoy. We hope you will join in the fun and we will see you at this year’s concert series performances! For a full schedule, please see our Calendar of Events.
