With a little imagination, even a parking lot can become a work of art.
When the former BB&T Bank building at 37 S. Main Street was demolished, it exposed a large blank wall on the side of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office that begged for the stroke of an artist’s brush. The wall overlooks the site of a new parking lot, a small garden and a walking path to the public parking garage.
The Town offered a mural project for bid to qualified artists and contractors. Marshall Adams submitted the winning proposal, selected by a committee of Town, County and Sheriff’s Office representatives. The mural has been a wonderful addition to the public art landscape of downtown Bel Air.
